Your fire is a hellish flower
A yellow glow of rage and light
Consuming in my darkest hour
Receding deep into the night
And bleeding from the willow trees
A lifeless substance, yet, alive
Retreating to my memories
One lost, one found, now we are five
And in this war that wages on
We find ourselves now enemies
Prepare for battle, fight at dawn
Search for the one that holds the keys
The gentle breeze that blows your hair
As you stand staring at the sea
My hopeful look returns your stare
With two more lost, now we are three
The blood was shed upon the field
The lives were lost, each one in vain
We used them as a human shield
As God sent down a piercing rain
That washed the blood clean from the grass
And let the world forget the fight
But not a war of guns and brass
Internal wars that burn and bite
And ripped apart the heart of one
And far away his spirit flew
When he, in search for hope, found none
With one more lost, now we are two
We thought that it had come to end
We realize now, it's just begun
In losing you, my blood, my friend,
I stand alone, for I am one
In losing faith and trust in God
We find ourselves lost once again
Protected still by staff and rod
From hate within the hearts of men.
